We understand, so many questions? So many answers! We have collected our most frequently asked questions below to assist you and your little fish in getting to grips with all things Fish N Flips.

Do you do 1-on-1 lessons?

Yes we do! Most of our swim schools offer private lessons. You can check out some more info on these here.

What is a taster trial session?

These sessions are for our little fish who are over 3 years of age. Mum and Dad don’t need to worry about getting wet, as you are no longer in the water with your little fish. This 15 minute trial will get your little one in the water to assess their swimming level, while we show you around the centre and is completely FREE!

Which class level should I book my child into?

At Fish N Flips we understand that every child learns and develops their skills at different stages. To find out what level is most suitable for your child, you can complete our self assessment form online here.

What ages is Fish N Flips for?

Our free baby bonding sessions start for little fish as young as 3 months old. Our mini masters program is suitable for bigger fish up to 14 years old. For those 14+ years plus, we offer a variety of adult and adolescent classes.

Where can I book?

You can tap either Self Assess to find out the level of your little fish in under 1 minute, or you can book a Free Trial for a taster class at your closest Fish n Flips 💦 

What age should my child start swimming?

How do we cancel our booking?

If you wish to cancel your Little Fish’s swimming lessons, you can do so through by completing a cancellation request from here

Once we have accepted your cancellation, one additional lesson will be charged before your lesson booking finishes! If you are a super organised fish and want to cancel for a few weeks in advance, your direct debit will continue as usual and finish on the final week 😊

I’d like to sign up! What do I do now?

Woohoo, we are excited to meet you and your little fish! You can find out which of our levels is right for your little fish by completing our self assessment form online here. Once you have assessed your little fish, we will give you a call to get you started, or if you’d like to dive right in. You can download our app from the Google Play or Apple App Store, create an account and find the time that suits your little fish!

Which lesson should I book my child into?

How are payments made?

To make things as simple and flexible for you and your bank account. Fees for your classes are calculated seven days before the class and are direct debited weekly on Thursdays from your nominated bank account or credit card. Occasionally a direct debit might fail, and we will process this on the next banking day. We will notify you if this is the case, so you’re in the know ✌️

What is the parent portal and how do I log in?

You can access our online Parent Portal with our Fish N Flips App. We will send you an email password link that allows you to access your Fish N Flips account. This allows you to update your contact and payment details, track your child’s progress, mark your child as absent, and even book your make-up lessons youself!

What if we decide to have a break from swimming lessons?

If you are only missing one class you can check out our Make Up Classes information. If you need to have a bit longer of a break, you can chat to your centres Chief Flipper about our Lifestyle Hold.

How many kids are in each class?

For little fish in our Baby Bonding and Small Fry levels the most that will be in there is 6, for Little Flipper levels up to 4 little fish will be in the class, and for those superstars in our Mini Master classes they can expect to join 5-6 other little fish.

What is your pricing?

Pricing depends on the location of your swim school. Choose your closest Fish N Flips from our location page, and their pricing will be listed under their information dropdowns.

Do you offer a family discount?

Yes! Any lesson after the first per week is discounted, this counts for Little Fish with multiple lessons and families with more then 1 Little Fish swimming at a time.

What happens if my child misses their lesson?

We understand that sometimes life can get in the way, and you may need to miss a lesson or a few. That is why we allow unlimited make ups for the whole family.

To receive a make up, poppp onto our app, and cancel your attendance before the class starts. A token will be made available on your account. Tokens can only be booked up to 7 days in advance and will expire after 30 days.

Your little fish needs to be currently enrolled to be able to redeem your makeup tokens. These tokens can’t be shared between little fish and will expire if their booking is cancelled.

Does my child need to wear a cap and goggles?

To aid with the health and safety of all patrons, and to ensure our water quality is maintained to the highest standard, we ask that all children with long hair wear a swim cap. Goggles are also strongly recommended, especially for those children who experience difficulty putting their eyes in the water. Caps and goggles are available for purchase at our swim shop.

How do you know if my child attended their lesson?

All little fish are required to register their attendance at every class by their parent/guardian entering their details at the check in kiosks. If your little fish will be absent from a class, you can mark absent prior to the start of their class via the Fish n Flips app.

What do I need to bring?

If your hopping in with your little fish in our Baby Bonding or Small Fry programs, we recommend bringing a rashie or t-shirt for them to hold onto, also a swim nappy is essential.
For all little fish in our Little Flipper and Mini Master levels, a swim cap and goggles is recommend.
Oh… and of course a towel to dry off after classes!

What are the supervision rules of your centre?

All little fish must be supervised during their class, and whilst within the facility, by a parent or guardian 16 years and over. All little fish 5 years and under must be closely supervised at all times when in attendance and remain within arms-reach of a carer when in the water. No little fish shoud enter class teaching areas, whether being used or not, prior to or after their class.
